Arrest in Manilva for property crimes

-

In the so-called Operation “Souzai”, Guardia Civil officers have arrested a person as the alleged perpetrator of eight offences of robbery with force and two of criminal damage, all committed in the town of Manilva (Málaga).

Following a series of complaints filed last December by local residents reporting that various items had been stolen from their properties, investigators began operational enquiries, with the collaboration of Manilva Local Police, in order to establish the identity of the person or persons responsible.

These investigations led officers to identify an individual who could be behind the offences. For that reason, following the relevant court order, officers searched this individual’s home, where they found numerous stolen items, and the person was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of ten offences against property.

Subsequently, some of the stolen items were identified by the complainants and were returned to their rightful owners. Officers are continuing the investigation in case there are other victims of robberies that have not yet been reported, given the high number of second homes in the town.

The detainee was brought before the judicial authority, which ordered his imprisonment. The operation was carried out by officers from the Manilva Main Station in collaboration with the Estepona Judicial Police Team of the Guardia Civil.
