Guardia Civil officers have been carrying out an operation since the early hours of this Wednesday against an organisation involved in drug trafficking, in which 35 people have been arrested so far and searches have been carried out in towns in the provinces of Cádiz, Seville and Málaga, with the Princesa Kristina development in Sabinillas among them.

According to Guardia Civil sources quoted by Europa Press, the operation has been coordinated by the Organised Crime and Anti-Drug Team (EDOA) of the Algeciras Command, in an action authorised by Court of First Instance and Investigation number 3 of San Roque, with the coordination of the Anti-Drug Prosecutor’s Office of the Campo de Gibraltar.

In the operation, 16 searches have been carried out in the Cádiz towns of Los Barrios, San Roque, La Línea and Trebujena, as well as in Lebrija (Seville) and in Marbella and Sabinillas (Málaga).

The operation, in which around 200 Guardia Civil officers are taking part, remains open, so further arrests relating to this drug trafficking organisation, based in the Campo de Gibraltar, are not ruled out.
