AMPAS take their demands to Andalusian PP parliamentarian Daniel Castilla amid lack of progress

Representatives of the AMPAS of Manilva have taken advantage of a visit by the Andalusian parliamentarian for the Partido Popular, Daniel Castilla, to explain to him first-hand the situation facing the municipality’s education community and, in particular, the urgent need for a new secondary school.

The meeting, held in a cordial atmosphere, allowed the AMPA representatives to hand over in person the request they had already submitted to the Provincial Education Delegate in Málaga, Miguel Ángel Briones, and to which, to date, they have still not received an official written response.

The AMPAS welcome the willingness to engage in dialogue shown during the meeting, but insist that concern continues to grow over the lack of concrete progress, backed up by documentation, that would give families certainty and peace of mind.

«It is not just about kind words, but about firm, written commitments that guarantee real solutions», said some of those attending, highlighting the unease caused by the current situation.

During the meeting, the track record of parliamentarian Daniel Castilla himself was also recalled. During his time as a political representative in Ronda, he actively defended improvements to educational infrastructure, going as far as demanding investment and urgent repairs at several schools in his municipality when his party was in opposition in the Junta de Andalucía.

In this regard, the AMPAS hope that the same commitment from Castilla, who in the past defended educational improvements in his own town, will now translate into concrete action for Manilva, where the education community has long been reporting the need for new infrastructure to ease overcrowding and the maintenance problems at the current secondary school.

Despite the lack of concrete progress to date, the families wanted to make it clear that they will not give up and will continue to take their demands to all the administrations and political representatives necessary.

«The aim is clear: to achieve real solutions for our children and for the educational future of Manilva», they say.

The AMPAS concluded by reaffirming their commitment to keep working actively and consistently, wherever necessary, until the new secondary school stops being a promise and becomes a reality.
