Mario Jiménez, mayor of Manilva, together with the Infrastructure and Works councillor, Diego José Jiménez, the head of Culture, Alba Jiménez, and the Education councillor, Daniel Muñoz, travelled to Málaga, accompanied by the local parish priest, José Antonio Melgar, to sign the collaboration agreement between the Bishopric and the Town Hall for the conservation and enhancement of the parish churches of Santa Ana and San Luis.
The buildings in question form part of the municipality’s heritage, which holds cultural, religious and architectural value. Thanks to the efforts made by municipal officials, they can now be restored, refurbished and improved.
In defence and protection of the historical and artistic heritage and the tourism and cultural promotion of the municipality, the Governing Team will allocate €185,000 to the refurbishment of the two buildings, with a contribution of €29,980.47 from the Bishopric of Málaga. The material execution budget amounts to €214,980.47.
The Bishopric will be responsible for the contracting and award of the project and the works, in accordance with the procedure it has established for this purpose.
Details of the work to be carried out on the churches will be announced in the coming days.
