The Parks and Gardens department, headed by Francisco Becerra, is carrying out various works to eradicate the so-called pine processionary, a very harmful species of defoliating lepidopteran.
Rising temperatures and a lack of rainfall have once again brought forward the appearance of the first processionary caterpillars on pine trees this year, so the department is taking immediate action to protect these trees.
