The Guardia Civil is carrying out an operation today, Thursday, in La Línea de la Concepción and Manilva (Málaga), with the aim of dismantling a network laundering money from drug trafficking.
Specifically, sources from the armed institute say, searches are being carried out at six properties, two of them in the Zabal area of La Línea, and four others in Manilva.
The first arrests have been made so far, along with the seizure of cash and documentation, although no figures have been given for an operation that remains open since it began early this morning.
It involves 150 Guardia Civil officers from the Málaga and Algeciras command areas, as well as from the Narcotics Coordination Body (OCON-Sur), the Regional Centre for Analysis and Intelligence against Drug Trafficking (CRAIN) and the Rapid Action Group (GAR).
Sources close to the investigation say that those involved were allegedly laundering money generated by the organisation led by the clan of “el Titi”.
In September 2020, another Guardia Civil operation against this same clan resulted in the arrest of two of “el Titi”’s sons, among other alleged members of the organisation.
Investigators estimated assets of around six million euros obtained illicitly through drug trafficking, as in previous actions linked to this same organisation more than two tonnes of hashish had been seized.
