Manilva now has a new association of shopkeepers, hoteliers, businesspeople and self-employed workers (ACHEAM), which in recent days registered with the Register of Associations of the Junta de Andalucía.
The aim of ACHEAM, according to its president, “is to mobilise and support the area’s economic sector and to attract residents to come and shop and spend in Manilva, where there is a sector that offers a great diversity of products and services”.
The new organisation, which will shortly hold its public presentation, will contact the municipal authorities and intends to launch a campaign to boost businesses in the area under the slogan “Manilva está de moda” (“Manilva is in fashion”).
The leaders of the new association, headed by its president, want to draw attention to the quality of local commerce and stress that “the real industry of Manilva is us, together with tourism. That is why, they say, it is important to support this sector, which “brings the municipality together and holds it up”, and because small businesses “are the biggest source of employment in Manilva”.
The new association will shortly meet the Asociación de Comerciantes del Puerto de la Duquesa with the aim of reaching a “merger” to work for the interests of the whole municipality, always bearing in mind the particular characteristics of some areas, explain representatives of the group.
