The business sector in Manilva and the thousands of people who depend on it will spend this week anxiously awaiting the figures for the active incidence rate in the town, as next Wednesday marks 14 days imposed by the Junta de Andalucía in which the municipality has been at Level 4, grade 2, and during which all non-essential shops in the municipality have had to close, among other measures.
The latest figures provided by the Regional Ministry of Health and Families appear to be improving slightly and are very close to bringing the active incidence rate below 1,000 (cases per 100,000 inhabitants), which is the current threshold to be passed for the measures to be eased and to move to grade 1. Under grade 1, the perimeter closure of the municipality would remain, among other measures, but it would allow all shops to reopen, which could happen, if all goes well, from Saturday 13 at 00:00.
The regional High-Impact Public Health Alert committees continuously monitor the epidemiological situation in their provinces and municipalities and report on the need to maintain or adjust the alert levels and their grades according to the health risk and the proportionality of the measures. They meet every Monday and every Thursday to assess the situation in the municipalities, so by the next meeting on Thursday 11 February, Manilva will have completed those 14 days, and the requirement to bring the active incidence rate below 1,000 by the middle of the week will have to be the main objective in order to move down a level and allow the return of commercial activity and the reopening of non-essential businesses in the municipality.
We will report all the figures and changes as they happen each day. You can follow them as they are published on our Telegram channel: https://t.me/manilvaweb
