The 7th International Seabed and Beach Clean-up took place on Saturday on the beaches of Castillo de la Duquesa.

Organised by the Environment department of Manilva Town Hall, whose head is Laura López, the event was also attended by the mayor, Mario Jiménez, the Beaches councillor, Eva Galindo, and councillors Diego José Jiménez and Francisco Becerra.

The activity had the collaboration of the Asociación Subacuática de Casares, the Club Náutico de Manilva and Marinas del Mediterráneo.

All of them wished to thank the volunteers for their excellent work, and the volunteers in turn presented Laura López with a gift in the form of a mural.

A total of 200 kg of waste was collected, making for a significant clean-up, although the main message is that people must protect and look after our surroundings more.
