With the aim of boosting sales and encouraging spending in Manilva’s local shops, the 18th edition of the 2023 Christmas Shop Window Competition has been launched. The initiative seeks to brighten up the town’s streets during the festive season and create a Christmas atmosphere for residents and visitors.
Who can take part?
All businesses in the municipality that register before 5 December can take part in this competition. The requirements include having their registered and tax address in Manilva, holding the corresponding municipal licence, being up to date with tax obligations and not being in any situation that prevents participation under current regulations.
How to register
Registration is carried out at the Commerce department, located at C/ Miguel Delibes Nº 11, in the Usos Múltiples building in Sabinillas. Date and theme:
Shop windows must remain decorated with Christmas motifs from 6 to 25 December 2023. The theme will be in keeping with the festive atmosphere of Christmas, with complete freedom as to technique and style.
Jury:
The jury will be made up of local artists, staff from the Commerce department and the Commerce Councillor. In the event of a tie, the Commerce Councillor will have the casting vote.
Prizes:
Eight cash prizes will be awarded, with a total of €3,072.22 gross, funded through budget item 920 433 2269900 «Local Commerce Activities» of Manilva Town Hall for the 2023 financial year. The prizes range from €800 net for first prize to €100 net for seventh and eighth prizes:
- First Prize €800 net.
- Second Prize €600 net.
- Third Prize €400 net.
- Fourth Prize €300 net.
- Fifth Prize €200 net.
- Sixth Prize €150 net.
- Seventh Prize €100 net.
- Eighth Prize €100 net.
Jury’s decision and prize-giving:
The jury will announce its decision on 20 December 2023, and the results will be published in the media. The prize-giving will take place at an event to be announced in due course.
Manilva Town Hall invites all businesses to take part in this traditional initiative, which contributes to the festive spirit and the economic boost of the municipality during the Christmas season.
