Works resume on the Miraflores pedestrian crossing

-

Residents who walk along Avenida de Miraflores in Sabinillas have reason to be pleased about the resumption of work on the raised pedestrian walkway, a project that began last December and which, according to a Town Hall press release, was left unfinished due to a lack of materials, causing significant flooding problems during the recent rains.

The current councillor for Infrastructure and Works at Manilva Town Hall, Marcos Ruiz, together with the previous councillor for the area, Agustín Vargas, visited the avenue yesterday to inspect the state of the affected area. Both councillors confirmed the flooding problems that have recurred at this spot, which are especially worrying because of its proximity to a school.

According to their explanation, the works, begun in December, were halted by a lack of the materials needed to complete them properly. As a result, the area has flooded with every spell of rain, causing inconvenience to residents and raising safety concerns, given how close the school is.

The Town Hall now announces that a definitive solution to these problems will finally be provided. It is expected that with the resumption of work and the supervision and experience of two councillors this pedestrian crossing will be completed properly, thereby preventing the flooding that has affected the avenue over recent months.
