Verdemar Ecologistas en Acción asks Manilva Town Hall for information on the works on Metrovacesa’s «Blue Wave» and «Blue Marine» developments
Verdemar Ecologistas en Acción has formally requested information from the Urban Planning department of Manilva Town Hall about the works being carried out on the developments known as «Blue Wave» and «Blue Marine», promoted by the company Metrovacesa in the Bahía de las Rocas estate (in the municipality of Manilva).
The environmental organisation has detected alleged irregularities in the execution of these projects, which could be affecting both the safety of public infrastructure and compliance with environmental and planning regulations.
Among the irregularities observed, Verdemar points to the opening of a track next to the water tank that supplies the whole estate, which completely encroaches on its safety perimeter. This track is being used by vehicles and heavy machinery linked to the works, which constitutes a risk and a possible planning offence.
The campaigners also report the dumping of plant waste on a nearby plot, a practice that contravenes the Forest Fire Prevention Plans. Occupations have also been detected in the easement zone of the Public Hydraulic Domain, and to date the Town Hall has not provided access to the file requested by Verdemar, in breach of the Transparency Law.
Verdemar Ecologistas en Acción demands that Manilva Town Hall intervene immediately, guaranteeing compliance with the regulations and the protection of the public and environmental assets affected.
«We have been asking for information for months and we only get evasive answers from the council. If this situation continues, we will have no choice but to report Manilva Town Hall to the Junta de Andalucía for failing to comply with the Transparency Law«, the group stated.
