New decoration for the roundabout at Pueblo Mexicano that gives access to Peñoncillo and Avenida de España, with the boats on it repainted to become replicas of those currently used by two families from Sabinillas and others from Castillo de la Duquesa. These little boats, named Prosperidad, Felicidad, Hermanos Medina III and Nuevo Juanita Reina, are intended to beautify this corner of the municipality while paying tribute to the fishing community, which is an example to follow of work, sacrifice and good craftsmanship.
The Parks and Gardens councillor, Agustín Vargas, the Fishing councillor, Noelia Muñoz, and the area director, Carlos González, visited the site this morning to inspect the work.
We recall that the previous council had already announced on 25 May of this year that these same boats would be painted with a decoration imitating origami boats made from the typical newspaper paper, but all of that came to nothing more than a single post and a «commitment» with a local artist to carry out the work, which was never finally formalised.
