Coinciding with the opening of its headquarters in Manilva, the new political party that officially got under way little more than a month ago (Partido Centro Democrático Manilva) has taken the opportunity to announce one of its proposals, in response to requests it has been receiving from residents, for the construction and commissioning of a bus station on Avenida de Andalucía in Sabinillas, specifically after calle Goya and level with the La Noria swimming pool. The party is submitting this request to Manilva Town Hall with immediate effect so that it can be put into operation.
According to the project sketches seen by this newsroom, it would consist of a ticket booth for the sale of tickets, toilets and other vending services. There would be two bus bays and three taxi spaces equipped with electric charging points, together with an electric scooter platform serving as a departure point to other platforms at different locations where the scooters can be returned, with the power supply for all of these coming from a solar installation on the roof.
With these facilities, the PCDM aims to encourage the use of electric vehicles, so that anyone arriving can use an electric scooter to get around, or a taxi.
In this way, according to its spokesman Jesús Belmonte, «we would resolve, among other things, the problem posed above all by school transport at peak times, when there is a greater influx of school groups who need to use this service, along with residents whose working hours begin at the same time. Both children and other users would have somewhere to shelter from the rain and strong winds, which at present they cannot enjoy. We would also eliminate the danger caused by the proximity to the road where the stops are now located, as well as the traffic jams they cause. We also believe that we should be a destination municipality and not one that people simply pass through.»
According to the same document, submitted today through the electronic registry of Manilva Town Hall, an approximate cost of execution has even been estimated at around €42,000 + VAT.
