The mayor of Manilva and spokesperson for the Governing Team of the Association of Municipalities of the Western Costa del Sol, José Manuel Fernández, has received the Resolution of the General Secretariat for Water of the Junta de Andalucía, which sets out the measures for water use in the municipality during the drought period.
The resolution, which will come into force on Saturday 1 June and will remain in effect until 30 September, establishes the following restrictions:
Swimming pools:
Partial refilling of public and private swimming pools, provided they have a water recirculation system, in the quantities strictly necessary to replace losses through evaporation and filter cleaning and to guarantee the sanitary quality of the water.
Showers:
Showers may be used in sports facilities and swimming pools where their use is mandatory, provided that in all cases they have a timed push-button system, sensors or similar devices.
Public drinking fountains may operate, provided they have a timed push-button system, sensors or similar devices.
Gardens:
Survival irrigation of gardens with a maximum allowance of 400 m³ per hectare per month, with a maximum irrigation frequency of one day per week.
Street cleaning:
Street cleaning with pressure washers. Use of drinking water for cleaning and disinfecting roads using low-consumption pressure washers.
Beaches:
Showers will be available solely and exclusively for people with reduced mobility.
They will be located in the areas of Las Gaviotas, La Colonia, El Cali and La Noria.
It should be remembered that the drought situation continues and we must be responsible in our use of water in any of the situations described.
For further information, please consult the notice that will be published on the Manilva Town Hall Electronic Office.
Remember! Responsible use of water is essential to guarantee supply for everyone.
