Manilva Town Hall, through the Environment department, has received a satisfactory response from Autopista Costa del Sol following the request made for the removal of leftover fencing wire in the area.
Inspection and request:
Following a complaint received from residents, the Town Hall opened an inspection file, carried out by the Local Police. After confirming the presence of the debris, the motorway company was sent a notice stating the urgent need to remove it, as its presence was harmful to the environment and the appearance of the surrounding area.
Response and solution:
In the letter sent by Autopista Costa del Sol, it states that the waste reported is the remains of the old AP-7 fencing. This material is being dismantled and replaced with new fencing in various sections of the Estepona-Guadiaro stretch as part of the conservation and maintenance work on the infrastructure.
Commitment to the environment:
Both Manilva Town Hall and Autopista Costa del Sol have shown their commitment to caring for the environment and keeping the area clean. The swift response and the solution provided demonstrate the importance of collaboration between the different bodies in order to guarantee the wellbeing of the community and the protection of the natural environment.
Message to residents:
Manilva Town Hall encourages residents to continue reporting any incident that affects the environment. Everyone’s cooperation is essential to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
Manilva WebSite made this situation public
Complaints from some residents reached our newsroom, and we soon went to verify that the remains of the old fence were being left among the undergrowth in our area, so we immediately decided to make a public complaint about what was happening. Both Manilva Town Hall and Verdemar Ecologistas en Acción showed interest and began processing a file and the corresponding complaint.
