The 8 additional workers have begun their duties in the Infrastructure and Public Works department, under the direction of councillor Agustín Vargas, through the Social Employment Pool of the Employment department.
The main aim of these new appointments is to beautify, restore and improve every part of the municipality over the coming months, so that everything is in optimal condition for the Holy Week season.
On their first day, the team, made up of 5 bricklayers and 3 labourers, split up to work in different areas. On one side, they are working on the planters along the seafront promenade, in the La Colonia area, where rockeries are being installed and will then be decorated with low-maintenance vegetation.
It should be remembered that the renovation of these planters was launched, according to Manilva Town Hall’s Public Works Councillor Agustín Vargas, to prevent accidents among other things. In his own words: «The height has been reduced on technical advice, trying to avoid peaks and bumps because it is the only part of the seafront promenade that has no bar terraces, and scooters, bikes and so on pick up more speed.» He made these comments on our social media in response to criticism of the renovation of these planters.
On the other side, they are also carrying out repairs to the pavements at the entrance to Manilva village.
