The road known as the Camino de Estepona, which links the centre of Manilva with the river road, will be completely transformed in its first phase, as far as the Doña Pilar development.
This building, which has been left abandoned, was a priority for the Town Planning department, as are the more than 3,000 homes that were in the same situation, of which some 2,000 have already been brought back into use or are in the process of being refurbished.
Mayor Mario Jiménez, together with the councillor for this area, Marcos Ruiz, visited this busy road, where many residents have their homes and where they will soon see a major change in infrastructure. The developer in charge of the refurbishment project for these 40 homes will also take on the resurfacing, as well as the creation of a pavement along one side of the Camino de Estepona, maintaining a width of 7.5 metres along this stretch (6 metres for the two carriageway lanes and 1.5 metres of pavement).
Ruiz highlighted the radical change this future street will bring. The works planned for the area include reinforcement of the sewage and drinking water lines, the undergrounding of the high-voltage lines, the removal of pylons, and street lighting, which has already been installed.
