The mayor of Manilva, José Manuel Fernández, who is also the person ultimately responsible for Public Safety, today received the new Sergeant Chief of the Guardia Civil Post in the town, Juan Carlos Peinado, at the Town Hall.
The Chief of the Local Police, Juan Montero, was also present at the meeting, with the aim of highlighting the importance of collaboration and coordination between the two security forces to guarantee the safety and peace of mind of residents.
Manilva’s first councillor expressed his confidence that the arrival of the new Sergeant Chief will help improve security in the municipality and resolve more effectively any conflicts that may arise, always with a conciliatory approach but without neglecting compliance with the rules of civic behaviour and good coexistence.
As well as wishing him luck in his new post, Fernández took the opportunity to reiterate his request to the Ministry of the Interior of the Government of Spain for the Guardia Civil Barracks in Manilva to be considered a main post, which would mean an increase in staff and resources for the town.
The mayor is confident that the close collaboration between the Guardia Civil and the Local Police, together with the commitment of the new Sergeant Chief, will translate into greater security for all residents of Manilva.Guardia
