The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, accompanied by the president of the «Los Hidalgos» large residents’ association, José María Pavón, travelled to Málaga to discuss a matter of vital importance with the Roads Authority (Demarcación de Carreteras).
At the institution they were received by the Technical Adviser at the Málaga Roads Unit of the Ministry of Public Works (Ministerio de Fomento), Elena Fernández.
The main subject discussed was the construction of a footbridge linking both sides of the A-7, that is, the Eroski area with Los Granados.
The Town Hall has been working on this possibility for a long time and is once again requesting an assessment of the project’s feasibility and the drafting of a project to support it.
According to the mayor: «The Town Hall is prepared to cover the costs of this footbridge because it is essential to guarantee the safety of these residents and to extend transit services in the area».
For this reason, they have asked Fernández to speed up the procedures.
Both the mayor and the president of the large residents’ association expressed their wish to see this work achieved and hope to have the approval of the authorities.
As soon as approval is received, work will begin on this project, as will the crossing at La Paloma.
