The acting councillor for Parks and Gardens, Francisco Becerra, has visited several areas of the town where work is under way.
On the one hand, in the upper part of Princesa Kristina, an environmental park is being brought into use, as the councillor explained.
Although the site has already been cleared, one more clean-up is still needed to remove weeds, but benches and shaded areas have already been installed so that it can serve as a picnic area for residents. In addition, fencing has been put up around the perimeter of the site and the existing paths, and a children’s playground has been installed, which will have protective rubber flooring fitted for the enjoyment of the youngest children.
The project also includes planting trees to create new shaded areas.
On the other hand, Becerra also visited Altos de La Paloma, where the department he runs, using funds from the former PER within the agriculture department, for which he is also acting head, is preparing a public green space. A biohealthy park for older people can already be seen there, and it will also have a new children’s area, for the residents of these areas.
And so the parks and gardens department brings the term of office to a close, having brought different areas into use over the last 4 years and radically improved the 28 parks in the municipality.
