Manilva Town Hall is working on creating a new leisure and recreation area behind the Pabellón de Usos Múltiples (multipurpose sports hall) and the Manilva football pitch.
The mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, and the Parks and Gardens councillor, Francisco Becerra, have visited the site to check on the progress of the cleaning and clearance work.
This project involves the Parks and Gardens and Cleaning departments, the latter headed by councillor Paqui López.
The work mentioned is currently under way, along with the tidying of the woodland, made up of pines, carob trees, poplars, holm oaks and maples, among others, in this future recreation area.
Once the land has been cleaned up, wooden picnic tables and bins will be installed so that they fit in with this natural setting, which will soon be able to be enjoyed by everyone.
In addition, as the municipal officials explained, there are also plans to install barbecues and a water point in a safer, concrete-surfaced area, the former skate park.
Once this attractive project is completed, residents will have a new outdoor space in the centre of Manilva.
