New floating walkways for beach access for people with reduced mobility

-

The Beaches department continues to introduce improvements along our coastline. Following the installation of the 15 toilet blocks, the replacement of showers and wooden walkways and the purchase of new machinery for cleaning work, workers from the department headed by Eva Galindo are currently laying three new floating walkways, resistant to sun, water and the passage of tractors.

This new service is initially being installed at the three beach access points for people with reduced mobility, as the councillor explains.

The councillor responsible for this area and the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, visited the coastline to check the finish of the work.

These roll-out walkways, which are made of a synthetic, approved material, have been placed specifically in the Acapulco area, at La Noria and at the main lifeguard post, located in the Cali.

As Eva Galindo indicated, this is a pilot scheme in which priority has been given to access points for people with disabilities. Subsequently, provided the material proves to work well, it will be introduced at other locations along our coast.
