A 53-year-old man died on Saturday after a road accident on the A-7 motorway as it passes through Manilva. The crash occurred at kilometre 1,086 of the road, in the direction of Cádiz, at around 10:36, when the motorcyclist left the carriageway and collided with the crash barrier, according to the 112 emergency service, part of the Andalusian Emergency Agency.
Several drivers raised the alarm immediately, however, the ambulance arrived at 11:14, a delay that could have been vital in an extremely serious situation such as this.
When the health services of the Andalusian Health Service finally arrived at the scene, they could only certify the motorcyclist’s death. Manilva Local Police and the Guardia Civil were also deployed to the area from the outset.
This latest incident once again highlights the growing delays in medical assistance in the area, a situation that residents have long been reporting with a sense of helplessness, demanding urgent improvements in emergency care given the risk it poses to people’s lives.
