One of the essential services the municipality receives from external companies is the management of electricity. For this reason, the mayor, José Manuel Fernández, supported by a municipal technician, has held a meeting with Carlos Chaves and José Alberto Godoy, manager and head of Endesa’s Marbella-Manilva area.
The lack of coordination in the past has been one of the main obstacles to the municipality having better infrastructure and services. Unfortunately, some investments have been unable to start or be carried out because of bureaucratic delays and political decisions.
For this reason, the mayor will create a specific department drawing on the Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Commerce areas to deal directly with all requirements, requests, permits, licences and notices relating to energy, water, sewerage, etc., that affect the municipality.
Other issues discussed were:
- A review of pending works and immediate actions.
- Technical reports to improve the network and the service.
- A solution to the overhead cabling.
- Specific actions in the residential developments.
Fernández advocates a single Town Hall that provides direct and effective services, improving municipal management and public service.
