According to today’s publication in the BOPM (Boletín Oficial de la Provincia de Málaga, the Official Gazette of the Province of Málaga), on 14 December the mayor’s office replaced its area director Dª Pilar Zúñiga Segura following her dismissal as a temporary civil servant at Manilva Town Hall, as can be read in the Decree:
«In view of reasons of governability that recommend proceeding with the dismissal of the head of the Mayor’s Office Area of this Town Hall, doña María del Pilar Zúñiga Segura; in accordance with Article 104.2 of the Law of 2 April Regulating the Bases of Local Government, I hereby resolve:
First. To dismiss doña María del Pilar Zúñiga Segura as a temporary civil servant of the Town Hall with effect from 14 December 2022.
Second. To express to her the full gratitude of the Mayor’s Office for the work carried out during her time at the Town Hall and for the dedication she has shown in her post.»
Don Alejandro Medina Ríos has been appointed to the post, with a total monthly salary of one thousand nine hundred and fifty euros (€1,950) paid in fourteen instalments. The post is full-time and exclusive, with the holder available to the orders of the Mayor’s Office at any time, and he will be dismissed when the term of office of the person who appointed him expires.
What is odd about this new appointment is that Dª Pilar Zúñiga Segura continues to be seen daily and at any hour as if she were just another municipal employee, taking part in various municipal events as another member of the governing team, having been appointed after her dismissal from Manilva Town Hall as Managing Director and member of the board of directors of the Public Water Company of the Association of Municipalities of the Western Costa del Sol.
