Manilva Town Hall has detected waste from the replacement of the protective fencing along the Mediterranean motorway (autopista del Mediterráneo) on local land.
After opening investigative proceedings and requesting an inspection by the Local Police, the presence of these discarded materials has been confirmed.
The council has located the workers carrying out the fence replacement, who have stated that the collection and removal of the discarded fencing is scheduled for once the works are complete.
However, Manilva Town Hall has not wished to wait for the works to finish and has sent a formal notice to the motorway concessionaire requiring it to remove the waste within 15 days of receiving the notice.
The Town Hall has also asked to be notified when the fence replacement works are finished so that it can carry out a new inspection and verify that all the waste has been removed.
The Manilva council remains firm in its commitment to keeping the municipality clean and in good condition, and will not hesitate to take the necessary measures to ensure that current waste regulations are complied with.
This newsroom, which was the first to publish these events after being alerted by several cyclists, has also learned of the follow-up being carried out by Verdemar Ecologistas en Acción, which took less than 24 hours to request information on the matter and report what happened to the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.
