Manilva Town Hall acts over imminent risk of collapse at Las Higueras homes

-

In 2010 Manilva Town Hall assessed, by means of the required technical reports, the danger posed by the state of the structures at the Las Higueras housing development, which had been affected by severe flooding. Six years later, with the owners having failed to comply with the orders issued by the Town Hall, it again reiterated the need to repair or demolish the building because of the danger posed by its poor condition.

Now, the Town Hall is to deal with this long-standing problem, all the more so since these homes have been occupied and there is a real danger of collapse. For this reason, the Local Police have gone to the site and have notified the occupants that they must vacate the premises.

Public safety is prioritised and the eviction of homes at risk of collapse is ordered

The matter will be brought to the attention of the State Security Forces and the Government Sub-delegation itself, together with the technical reports that support the municipal decision, along with a request for the assistance needed to ensure the eviction is carried out, with the intervention of the courts if necessary.
