Fitur, one of the most important international tourism fairs in the world, opened today and begins its 2023 run, as usual, at the IFEMA venue in Madrid, where our municipality is represented once again as part of the Costa del Sol Tourism Board.
At 10:30, His Majesty King Felipe VI, accompanied by Queen Letizia, toured the fair, visiting the Andalusia stand, where he was welcomed by the president of the Junta, Juanma Moreno.
Moreno raised a toast with wine as he passed our stand, together with the mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez. Besides the mayor, Manilva is institutionally represented by councillors Daniel Muñoz, Francisco Becerra, Alba Jiménez and Marcos Ruiz, and by the head of the Tourism department, Eva Galindo.
As for the promotion of local wine, the guests are owners of Manilva wineries. Diego Amado and Elena Revilla of Bodegas Manilva, and Gonzalo Bocanegra, representing the company that bears his surname, are present on this opening day. It is worth noting that the local wines are being served by Veneciadores SL.
Mario Jiménez gave a very positive assessment of our municipality’s participation in this prominent showcase, where he praised the work of his colleague Eva Galindo at the head of the local tourism promotion project.
Our municipality’s programme at Fitur this Wednesday includes the presentation of the promotional video, the 360 guide of Manilva Única and the local wineries.
In addition, Manilva has been represented by councillor Daniel Muñoz, Delegate for Mediation, Integration and Foreign Residents at the Association of Municipalities of the Western Costa del Sol, to present the Solheim Cup 2023, the biennial women’s golf competition between teams from Europe and the United States, which will take place at Finca Cortesín.
Tomorrow, the presentation of the Camping Chullera project and of Active and Water Tourism is planned, while on Friday the El Tábano hotel project will be presented.
