Manilva records the highest rainfall last Thursday

-

On Thursday rain fell across much of the country, but Manilva, was the municipality on the mainland that collected the most water per square metre, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), with 35 litres per square metre. It even hailed at around 16:50 in Sabinillas at sea level.

This Friday and over the weekend the cool weather continues for this time of year, more typical of early April than mid-May. Unsettled conditions also persist, as a result of cold air in the upper layers of the atmosphere and northerly winds, which means a higher probability of stormy showers. Some of these downpours may be locally heavy, as already happened on Thursday, with hail and more than 15 or 20 litres per square metre in just one hour.
