The initiative aims to strengthen support for the self-employed and entrepreneurs through advice, technical assistance and cooperation between municipalities.
Manilva Town Hall has joined the Network of Rural Entrepreneurial Town Halls of Málaga, an initiative promoted by the Union of Self-Employed Professionals and Workers (UPTA Andalucía) with the backing of the Diputación de Málaga.
The project is aimed at municipalities in the province with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants and its main objectives include encouraging entrepreneurship, supporting self-employment and helping to stimulate the local economy.
Manilva’s membership will allow the municipality to be part of a network of towns that share resources and experience related to entrepreneurship and economic development in rural areas.
The planned measures include making information services, technical assistance and specialist advice available to self-employed people and entrepreneurs. These resources are intended both for those who wish to start a new business and for those who already run one and need support to consolidate it.
The initiative also includes activities to publicise and promote entrepreneurship, with the aim of raising awareness of the resources available and encouraging the creation and maintenance of economic activity in the participating municipalities.
Another of the network’s key areas is the exchange of experience and good practice between town halls, creating a space for cooperation to address issues related to employment, self-employment and business activity.
The project also presents entrepreneurship and job creation as tools to help keep people in the area and maintain local economic activity, especially in smaller municipalities.
With its entry into this provincial network, Manilva joins this collaborative space alongside other municipalities in Málaga province, with access to the measures and resources included in the programme.
