The Manilva Local Police yesterday located and seized a cannabis plantation in a house in the town centre of Manilva. The property had been fully adapted for growing the substance, with an illegal connection to the electricity supply.
Around 1,200 plants were seized and, with the help of the Guardia Civil, two people who were inside the house were arrested and brought before a judge as suspected persons responsible for the plantation.
The mayor, Mario Jiménez, wishes to express his recognition and congratulations to the officers who took part in the operation and encourages the Local Police force to continue along these lines, always watching over the safety of our residents. He also stressed the great importance of security in the municipality: «Whenever possible we will increase the number of posts in the Local Police, and we will also keep pushing for the Guardia Civil post to be made a main station.»
