Manilva Town Hall has awarded the contracts to renew the lighting of the church of Santa Ana and its surroundings, in the Manilva town centre, and of the church of San Luis de Sabinillas. According to the notices published on the Public Sector Procurement Platform, the two projects total €180,870.12, VAT included.
The larger of the two projects is for the church of Santa Ana, whose contract has been awarded for €162,589.90 to the company Técnicas y Sistemas de Energía y Control, S.L. The award was approved on 23 July 2026.
The project aims to improve the decorative and functional lighting of the church and the adjoining square by replacing the existing installations with more modern and efficient ones. The planned work includes fitting LED lights, renewing the wiring, upgrading the electrical panels and complementary civil works.
The council documentation states that the aim is to enhance the architectural features of the church, including the bell tower, and to improve the lighting of the public space. The project also provides for lighting for the parish cemetery, which, according to the Town Hall announcement, will have it for the first time.
The project is included in the 2025 Provincial Assistance and Cooperation Plan of the Diputación de Málaga, which funds it in full.
The Sabinillas project, awarded for €18,280
Meanwhile, the renewal of the lighting of the square and the church of San Luis de Sabinillas has been awarded to Suministros Eléctricos Coto, S.L. for €18,280.22, VAT included. The award was approved on 30 July.
In this case, the contract covers the supply of the light fittings and of the elements and accessories needed for their installation and operation. The documentation justifies the work by the deterioration of the existing equipment and the need to replace it.
The initial budget for this contract was €20,000, and the project is also part of the 2025 Provincial Assistance and Cooperation Plan, under the public lighting programme.
Two projects to improve lighting in the municipality
The Town Hall has publicly announced the forthcoming improvement of the ornamental lighting of Santa Ana and has said that its collaboration with the Diocese of Málaga includes future improvements at the parish church in Sabinillas.
With both awards now formalised, the projects will renew the lighting of two of the main religious buildings in both parts of the municipality.
