The mayor of Manilva, José Manuel Fernández, and the Education councillor, Fina Gómez, have held a productive meeting with representatives of the AMPAS (parents’ associations) of our town, where some very interesting conclusions were reached for the education community.
In a pleasant and receptive atmosphere, several important matters were discussed, including a proposal focused on the possibility of using the facilities of La Colonia Infantil de Sabinillas on a temporary basis as a transitional secondary school, until another school is built in the future.
The aim is to reduce class sizes so that both pupils and teaching staff can carry out their work in the best possible conditions.
From there, the mayor and the councillor will put this possibility to Unicaja, and will also reach out to Casares Town Hall on this matter, as it affects them too, along with other issues, in order to present a united front.
The meeting also covered other general matters, with the aim that the Town Hall and the AMPAS maintain very direct contact so that it can understand in detail how they operate, and their concerns and requirements.
