Plaza Vicente Espinel in Sabinillas will host a public screening this Friday of the World Cup quarter-final between Spain and Belgium, an event that will bring together residents and visitors around the football World Cup.
The Manilva Town Hall, through the Trade department headed by Agustín Vargas, will install a giant screen in Plaza Vicente Espinel in Sabinillas so that fans and visitors can watch live the World Cup quarter-final between the national teams of Spain and Belgium.
The screening will begin at 21:00 and its main aim is to turn the centre of Sabinillas into a meeting point to enjoy sport in a festive atmosphere, while also supporting local hospitality and shops during the match.
The initiative seeks to encourage coexistence between residents and visitors by taking advantage of a sporting event of major international significance, inviting families and fans to share an evening of open-air football.
An occasion of special significance for Manilva
The match will also have a special element for the municipality because of the large number of Belgian residents. Manilva currently has 93 different nationalities living in the municipality, with the Belgian community being one of the largest among the foreign population, alongside others such as British, Moroccan, Romanian, Italian, German and Bulgarian.
The Belgian community has for years been one of the most representative in the municipality, contributing to the international character that sets Manilva apart on the Costa del Sol.
With this activity, the Town Hall aims for Spaniards and Belgians, as well as the rest of the foreign residents, to share a day marked by sport and coexistence, regardless of the result.
The giant screen will be set up in Plaza Vicente Espinel in Sabinillas, where a large turnout is expected to enjoy the match in a lively atmosphere, with local hospitality businesses among the main beneficiaries of the initiative.
