Manilva Town Hall has called an ordinary council meeting for next Thursday 5 June at 9:30 in the Council Chamber on calle Dr. Álvarez Leiva. The meeting is of particular interest as it is the first council meeting since the no-confidence motion that gave the mayoralty to Mario Jiménez, of the Compromiso Manilva group, who will now chair the council meetings as mayor.
Items on the agenda
- Approval of the minutes of previous meetings
- A tribute on the retirement of Juan Manuel Oliva Rondón.
- The appointment of a new municipal representative to the Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol Occidental (the association of municipalities of the western Costa del Sol).
- The approval of the urban planning agreement CD-U-5 «Pedrazas», as well as the expropriation project linked to the access system for that area.
- Three proposed budget amendments, including supplementary and extraordinary credits.
- Out-of-court recognition of debts from previous financial years.
- Final approval of the 2025 Municipal Budget.
- The Socialist Municipal Group (PSOE) will also present two motions: one for the creation of an urban planning consortium with Casares and the Junta de Andalucía to restore and manage the course of the river Manilva through green infrastructure; and another to demand the construction of a second secondary school in the town, a demand repeatedly raised by the education community.
The meeting will also include the reporting of economic and financial control reports, as well as the mayoral decrees issued between 1 April and 1 June.
As usual, the agenda will end with the discussion of urgent matters, requests and questions.
