The municipal Cycling School in Manilva now has its new facilities where students will be able to carry out their practice sessions.
The new facility has just been inaugurated by the municipal authorities and the Club Ciclista de Manilva, in front of numerous young people who did not want to miss this first chance to see what will be the home of the School.
The mayor of the town, Mario Jiménez, and the Sports councillor, Manolo Gil, expressed their great satisfaction at being able to expand the sporting opportunities available to local residents with the launch of this new discipline, thanks to the town’s Cycling Club, which will be in charge of running the School.
Also attending the event, in addition to the board and members of Club Ciclista Manilva, were councillors Diego José Jiménez, Eva Galindo, Marcos Ruiz, Daniel Muñoz and Francisco Becerra, and area director Pilar Zúñiga.
On behalf of the Sports department, Manolo Gil thanked the Club for its involvement, as well as the Infrastructure and Works department and the Sports team for their work in making these facilities possible and getting this new discipline under way.
The president of CC Manilva, Alejandro Granados, explained that the classes will be aimed at the youngest children, who will be able to start out or improve their technique and bike-handling skills on this track located in the Maicandil area, where the calisthenics area and the Ciudad de la Petanca can also be found.
Municipal officials highlighted the growth in sport that the municipality is experiencing, as well as the clubs that are running different schools, as is the case here.
The classes, which will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 16:00 to 17:30, starting in October, will be taught by instructors from Club Ciclista Manilva who hold qualifications from the Andalusian Cycling Federation. The Club, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary, is taking on this new challenge with great enthusiasm and is convinced that it will contribute to the health and wellbeing of the students’ development.
So that these young people can see first-hand what the classes will involve, they can attend open days, which are completely free of charge, on 26 and 28 September, from 16:00 to 17:30.
