The motion presented at the extraordinary council meeting by Compromiso Manilva on lowering the property tax (Impuesto de Bienes Inmuebles, IBI) for the residents of the municipality has been approved. «Thanks to Compromiso Manilva, the residents of Manilva will see a reduction in their IBI bill for 2025», said the CM spokesman, Mario Jiménez.
The council meeting also saw several other Compromiso Manilva motions pass with the support of different political groups. «We thank the political groups for supporting our motions. What surprises us is that the governing team, made up of the PP and those who stood in the elections as IU, voted against several of the motions presented by Compromiso Manilva, among them the one to lower the IBI bill».
«This cut takes the rate from the current 0.57% to 0.50%, an average reduction of 16.5% in the IBI bill. A resident who currently pays 750 euros would pay 625 euros with this reduction. The PP and IU governing team has opposed this reduction in the tax burden on the residents of Manilva, which will be of such benefit to them», said Jiménez.
«At this council meeting Compromiso Manilva has shown residents that we are doing the work the governing team should be doing. It is more concerned that the photos do not come out blurred in its constant promotion on social media than with running a Town Hall that has been at a standstill for a year and a half».
Compromiso Manilva also succeeded in getting approved its motion to create a budget item of 200,000 euros to support new entrepreneurs in the municipality.
«Thanks to this aid, people who are thinking of starting a business will be encouraged to set up their company. This is something else the PP and IU governing team has opposed», said the CM spokesman, Mario Jiménez.
