Another success for the 4th Manilva Trail

The 4th edition of the Manilva Trail has lived up to expectations and been a resounding success. With 400 participants spread across the 14 and 25 kilometre races, which took in the most spectacular spots in the municipality, both the Club Senderista Los Kruos de Manilva and the Sports department set the bar high, as the runners themselves acknowledged.

With the invaluable collaboration of Civil Protection, the Local Police, the Club Ciclista de Manilva and the neighbouring Club Sierra Bermeja, the sporting event left no one indifferent.

Almost the entire governing team also took part, led by the mayor, Mario Jiménez, and the Sports councillor, Manolo Gil, who also took the start of the trail, along with the councillors Marcos Ruiz, Alba Jiménez, Daniel Muñoz, Laura López and Francisco Becerra, who presented the awards to the best in each category.

As for the overall results of both routes, in the men’s 25 km trail the Russian Antón Samokhvalov once again took first place, followed by Antonio Fraguela and José Cruces.

Over the same distance, Ana Cerván was the champion, ahead of María Beltrán and Anabel Lermos.

In the 14 km race, Rubén García, Ramón Alarcón and Francisco García made up the men’s podium, while Nancy Lochmann, Jenny Turner and Pilar Paublete were the best female runners.

Prizes were also presented in all categories and to the best local athletes, as well as to the largest club, which went to Sierra Carbonera of La Línea.
