The agreement, promoted by VOX councillor Antonio Marín and due to be formalised in the coming days, will allow the State Security Forces and Corps (FFCCSE) to use the municipal sports facilities for their regular training, supporting the wellbeing of these professionals.
In recent statements, Antonio Marín, VOX councillor at Manilva Town Hall, highlighted an important step forward in collaboration with the security forces thanks to VOX’s mediation. The meeting, held yesterday morning, was the result of a proactive initiative by the VOX Municipal Group, which facilitated a constructive dialogue with the Secretary of JUPOL, Pablo Sáenz, who will sign the agreement with the Town Hall of Manilva on behalf of JUPOL, JUCIL and JUSAPOL.
In this way, «a before and after» is marked in the support given to the State Security Forces and Corps in the town. According to Antonio Marín, the agreement, which directly benefits the National Police and the Guardia Civil, «will allow them to use the municipal sports facilities for their necessary regular training».
«This collaboration represents a fundamental change in the way our valuable security officers maintain their physical fitness,» Marín explained, stressing the importance of the arrangement. «Until now, many officers have been forced to travel to more distant places such as Estepona or Marbella, or even to pay for private gym memberships out of their own pocket, because of the lack of support in this area from the Ministry of the Interior.»
The agreement stems from a clear need among residents who belong to the security forces in Manilva, who until now have not had adequate facilities for their training. With this type of agreement, «we aim to make it possible for our officers to carry out their duties in the best possible physical condition and personal safety», said Marín. According to the VOX councillor, this measure not only has a direct impact on the quality of the service provided by these professionals, but also «strengthens the police presence in the town, indirectly increasing general safety».
The Mayor’s Office was quick to respond, issuing a statement on its social media channels reporting that, «in response to the request of the VOX Municipal Group», a «meeting with a representative of JUPOL» was held. The Mayor’s Office added that «the necessary synergy between the public security forces is essential» and that it considers that «this type of collaboration and permanent contact has a positive influence on the relationship with the National Police and the Guardia Civil, who together with the Local Police carry out great social work».
For his part, Antonio Marín said that «the meeting was very satisfactory» and that «the mayor welcomed the idea with great enthusiasm», acknowledging, in line with what the VOX councillor himself stated, that «this initiative strengthens the police presence in Manilva, whether in terms of surveillance or through the presence of the officers themselves at these sports facilities.»
VOX’s support for the security forces has been and will be unconditional, Marín stressed: «For us it is a priority that they enjoy the best possible circumstances; they are the people who defend our interests and our safety». He continued: «From VOX we want these public servants, who risk their lives every day to safeguard ours, to always feel supported and backed by all institutions».
To conclude, the VOX spokesperson underlined «the importance of social cohesion and the recognition of significant contributions to the community, values that are of the utmost importance for coexistence and progress in Manilva» and, in this regard, said: «VOX will always support initiatives that are good for the municipality».
