The Territorial Delegation for Educational Development and Vocational Training held a meeting on Friday with the family of a pupil at a school in Manilva, following the activation of the protocol for cases of possible bullying.
At the meeting, held in a spirit of cooperation and dialogue, new medical reports issued by the Andalusian Health Service (Servicio Andaluz de Salud) were considered, which recommend a change of school as a preventive measure to safeguard the wellbeing of the child. In light of these recommendations, and while the ongoing procedure is resolved, the Delegation has agreed as a precautionary measure to transfer the pupil to a school with available places in Estepona.
That school will take the pupil until the end of the current school year, and also during the next academic year at its corresponding affiliated school.
The family has welcomed this solution, adopted with the main aim of protecting the best interests of the child. Throughout the process, the atmosphere of respect, discretion and cooperation among all the parties involved, including those in charge of the school and the provincial administration, has been essential.
It is worth highlighting, in this context, the mediation carried out discreetly and constructively by José Manuel Fernández, spokesperson for the Partido Popular Municipal Group at Manilva Town Hall, whose intervention has contributed significantly to reaching an agreed solution that is respectful to all parties.
The institutions involved wish to reiterate their commitment to the protection of pupils, to harmonious relations in schools and to absolute respect for families.
