The Manilva Town Hall, in collaboration with Club Deportivo Paddle surf Manilva, invites you to take part in the second edition of the 2V Manilva SUP Race, to be held on 14 September, the town’s official SUP race event, counting towards the Fesurfing SUP Race Andalucia 2024 League (COSTA DEL SUP)
Following the success of the previous edition, which brought together more than 100 riders from different parts of Spain, the organisers are once again committed to bringing high-level and amateur Stand Up Paddle to Manilva’s coast. To this end, a demanding and attractive day of sport has been created for the SUP community of Andalucía and other regions, who will also be able to enjoy the tourist attractions the town has to offer. Top-quality beaches, influenced by the currents of the Strait, are perfect for practising this sport.
This year, as something new, the event includes an adapted SUP category, in the hope of making sport in general, and Stand up paddle in particular, an even more inclusive space for everyone.
FACILITIES AND SERVICES
The event will take place at La Noria beach in San Luis de Sabinillas: https://goo.gl/maps/DwQany6Pjupqx4M37 in an open space perfect for the race, next to the residential area, whose residents will also be able to enjoy the spectacle.
Facilities and services will be provided for the care of the athletes:
- Loading and unloading area on the beachfront
- Public toilets on both sides of the activity area
- Sports physiotherapy service provided by F.P Fisioterápia
- Refreshment area with drinks and fresh fruit
- Shelter tents for equipment and athletes
- Medical and emergency service
- A wide choice of restaurants near the activity area
- Accommodation offers with special prices for participants
- Music and commercial offers from collaborating brands.
EVENT SCHEDULE
From 09:00 check-in and collection of race numbers.
10:00 skippers’ meeting
10:30 Start of the youth and adapted categories (from youngest to oldest)
11:45 Start of the Popular category
12:15 Start of the Amateur promotion and under-16 categories (Amateur inflatable start 1 minute later)
13:00 Start of Junior and Elite (the men’s and women’s starts will be held separately)
14:00 Prize-giving and closing of the sporting event
The race will at all times be governed by the rules of the Spanish Surfing Federation.
RESULTS AND PRIZES OF THE 2V MANILVA SUP RACE
Athletes who finish the courses in the first 3 positions in each of their categories will take to the podium and receive their award, for which, as in the previous edition, an original and exclusive design has been prepared.
In addition, this year the organisers of the 2V Manilva SUP Race intend to reward both winners and participants in all categories. To this end, they plan to gather a series of very attractive gifts to be raffled among all registered participants. All this is thanks to the sponsors who have wished to join in the development of Stand Up Paddle in the town, and to whom we are enormously grateful for their effort and trust.
CATEGORIES
The following categories are established in accordance with the FESURFING rules:
- KIDS UNDER 8 male and female (born in 2016 or later) boards up to 10.6′.
- UNDER 10 male and female (born 2014 and 2015) boards up to 10.6′.
- UNDER 12 male and female (born 2012 and 2013) boards up to 12.6′.
- UNDER 14 male and female (born 2010 and 2011) boards up to 12.6′.
- UNDER 16 male and female (born 2008 and 2009) boards up to 14′.
- JUNIOR UNDER 18 male and female (born 2006 and 2007) boards up to 14′.
- ELITE MASTER male and female (aged 40 to 49) boards up to 14′.
- ELITE KAHUNA male and female (aged 50 and over) boards up to 14′.
- ELITE GENERAL male and female (junior under 18, elite senior, elite master and elite kahuna)
- AMATEUR PROMOTION male and female (aged 18 and over) rigid boards up to 14′.
- AMATEUR INFLATABLE male and female (aged 18 and over) inflatable boards up to 14′.
- POPULAR male and female (aged 16 and over) any type of board (not a points-scoring event)
- ADAPTED SUP male and female for people with a disability that prevents them from taking part in other categories (aged 12 and over) any type of board (not a points-scoring event)
COURSES
The format chosen for this race is a technical race, in which athletes must complete a set course marked out with buoys. The following distances are established for the different categories, and the courses may be modified depending on sea conditions on the day of the race.
- UNDER 8 maximum distance of 500m.
- UNDER 10 AND UNDER 12 maximum distance of 2000m.
- ADAPTED SUP maximum distance of 2000m.
- UNDER 14 and POPULAR maximum distance of 3000m.
- UNDER 16 AND AMATEURS maximum distance of 5000m.
- JUNIOR UNDER 18 AND ELITE maximum distance of 7000m
REGISTRATION
Anyone who wishes to may take part, provided they are properly registered through the platform www.dorsalchip.es, before 8 September. Late registrations will not be accepted.
Registration will be divided into stages with the following prices:
Stage 1 until 31/07/2024
• UNDER 18 AND ELITE. €15
• AMATEURS. €10
• ALL OTHER CATEGORIES. €5
Stage 2 from 01/08/2024 to 31/08/2024
• UNDER 18 AND ELITE. €25
• AMATEURS. €20
• ALL OTHER CATEGORIES. €15
Stage 3 from 01/09/2024 to 11/09/2024

Registration for the adapted SUP category will be free of charge. Please note: registrations will not be accepted after the deadline. In the event of suspension or cancellation, the organisers undertake to refund the full amount.
ACCOMMODATION AND DINING OPTIONS
Athletes and companions will be able to enjoy the various accommodation options in the town, and participants may benefit from special prices at some of them.
They will also be able to enjoy a wide range of food and drink in the town’s different businesses, especially those closest to the event site, as it will take place within the residential area of San Luis de Sabinillas, which has a special appeal for gastronomic tourism.
