With the removal of the prefabricated classrooms and the addition of two classrooms at the San Luis de Sabinillas school, and a period during which the quality of the extension work has been closely monitored throughout, the project is now a reality. Pupils in Sabinillas will have 4 more classrooms and a multipurpose hall this new school year, completing the governing team’s major commitment to education.
The extension has been formally received in recent days, following various tests carried out by the council’s technicians. They were accompanied by the council comptroller, the governing team, and the management of the school and of the works, and were able to properly oversee its completion.
The head of the Public Works and Infrastructure department, Diego José Jiménez, visited the site accompanied by the mayor, Mario Jiménez, to check every detail of the new facilities now available at the school.
Described as greatly needed, the new rooms will be fully equipped for use from September. As the councillor responsible for public works announced, 24,000 € will be withheld from payment to the construction company to cover possible defects or hidden faults during this first year.
The mayor, Mario Jiménez, said he was very satisfied with the joint work carried out by the municipal departments involved, together with the in-house technicians, to make the most of and manage this much-needed extension, which, as we recall, has had a budget of more than 630,000 €.
With this investment, the municipal government keeps its promise to provide families with children at the school, the teaching staff and the people of Sabinillas with excellent facilities in keeping with our times, so that our young people can develop in the best possible conditions.
