The mayor of Manilva, José Manuel Fernández, has held a highly significant meeting for the future of the municipality, focused on the creation of new parking spaces to meet the growing demand for parking in the town’s different districts.
With the aim of improving quality of life for residents and visitors, an ambitious plan has been launched that envisages the creation of 1,500 new parking spaces across the three population centres.
The planned expansion projects are as follows:
1. Sabinillas: 500 new spaces on the future boulevard
In Sabinillas, there are plans to build 500 parking spaces on the future boulevard, which will help meet considerable parking demand in the area and provide greater convenience for residents and visitors.
2. Puerto de la Duquesa/El Castillo: 1,000 spaces in the green corridor
In Puerto de la Duquesa, there are plans to create a green corridor that includes 1,000 parking spaces. This initiative will provide significant relief from traffic congestion in the area, improving the current situation for residents and for those who come to enjoy this picturesque spot.
3. Manilva: refurbishment and free opening of the Álvarez Leiva car park
In Manilva, there are plans to carry out the refurbishment and management of the Álvarez Leiva car park, which will be opened to the public free of charge. The aim of this measure is to provide a solution to parking needs in the town centre and to encourage more visitors.
Mayor Fernández highlighted the importance of these projects for the development and wellbeing of the municipality. Although they are still at an early stage of planning, it is expected that further details will be available in the coming months once the technical and administrative work progresses.
