The refurbishment and extension of the Municipal School of Music, Dance and Drama, located in plaza de Orfeo, is now a reality.
Today the handover certificate for the work was signed. It was attended by a large part of the governing team, headed by the mayor, Mario Jiménez, the councillor for Infrastructure and Works, Diego José Jiménez, and the Culture councillor, Alba Jiménez, who toured this modern building together with municipal technicians, the managers of the company Desarrolla, and the director of the school, Fernando Antiñolo.
As a result, the possibilities for the coming school year have been enhanced, mainly in the quality of the teaching, making it a benchmark in our autonomous community.
The extension project has provided the school with a rehearsal room for Dance on the ground floor and a rehearsal room for the Band on the upper floor.
The energy efficiency of the air conditioning, acoustics, electrical, lighting and network connection systems has also been modernised and optimised.
The extension has also been used to alter the former layout, including the reception hall and staff room on the upper floor, and the creation of a new entrance and reception on the ground floor.
Maintenance and conservation work has also been carried out on the building, such as waterproofing and thermal insulation of the roofs and façades throughout.
The councillor for Infrastructure and Works has congratulated all the parties involved on achieving first-rate facilities for the hundreds of users of the school.
Mario Jiménez also highlighted the good understanding between the Town Hall and the company from the start until the completion of the work, which is reflected in the final finish of the Manilva School of Music, Dance and Drama.
Now that the work is finished, all the necessary equipment and materials will be installed in the coming days, so that the school can open in September.
