VOX demands audit of Manilva's accounts

-

The VOX spokesman in Manilva, Antonio Marín, has publicly urged mayor José Manuel Fernández to honour the investiture agreement signed by the Partido Popular and VOX in June 2023. The pact included three key points, of which «the most important, the external audit of the municipal accounts, has still not materialised».

«A year and three months after we signed this agreement, two of the three points have progressed, but the audit of the municipal accounts by an external firm is still pending, which is no coincidence, as it comes first in the agreement«, Marín said.

According to the spokesman, «the occupation fee for public spaces has been reduced and the Local Police force has been strengthened», measures that «form part of VOX’s commitment to improving quality of life in Manilva«.

However, the audit, which seeks «transparency and rigour in municipal management», has still not been carried out, which has led VOX to ask the mayor directly: «What has led the Partido Popular not to have fulfilled this point of the agreement yet? And, if it is willing to do so, when does it expect the audit to be completed?».

Marín stressed that «what is signed with VOX is honoured», urging Fernández to give a clear response to residents’ demands, as they «are aware of what is and is not being done» in the local government. «The investiture agreement is not a mere statement of intent, but a real commitment that must be carried out in full», he concluded.
