For another year, the Club Ciclista de Manilva, in collaboration with the Town Hall’s sports department, is organising the 8th Charity Cycling Gymkhana on 7 January. The event is suitable for all ages and aims to give families a fun, sporty morning with an added element of solidarity. This year, for the first time, pupils from the Municipal Cycling School will take part and will be given a small gift to mark the end of their first season at the school.
Entry will consist of one kilo of non-perishable food (rice, pasta, etc.) or milk, which, as in previous editions, will go to families in need in Manilva, in collaboration with the local parish priest.
According to the organisers, the activity is aimed at children aged between 4 and 15, who will be able to learn or improve their balance, coordination, technique and motor skills on the bike.
The activity circuit, which will be set up on the La Noria promenade, will be open from 10:30 until 12:00 noon. It will be followed by a cycle ride along the whole promenade as far as the don Juan area and back to the starting point, which people of any age can join in order to take part as a family.
The use of a protective helmet will be compulsory.
Both the Club Ciclista de Manilva and the sports councillor, Manolo Gil, encourage residents to take part in this charity event, which is also supported by Eroski.
