The Manilva Quarry, run by Prebetong Áridos, has renewed the collaboration agreement it has maintained for years with the Asociación Luisana on the Proyecto Uniendo Capacidades. This action forms part of one of the commitments included in the Corporate Social Responsibility Plan of Votorantim Cimentos, which is to be a good neighbour and help improve the quality of life of the people living around its plants.
The Asociación Luisana launched the Uniendo Capacidades project in 2022 with the aim of providing the means and tools to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, older people and children in the developmental stage who are part of the association. To this end, it offers its members a range of services, such as workshops, therapies and activities of various kinds, and has a team of professionals made up of a social worker, an occupational therapist, a speech therapist and an educational specialist.
For Joaquín Berja, manager of the Manilva Quarry, «we are proud to have been part of this project since its beginnings and to help, year after year, these groups to take part in activities and workshops that develop and foster their abilities, attend speech therapy and educational sessions, among others, as well as to provide them with guidance and support in obtaining the resources available to meet their needs. In short, to help improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, older people and children in the developmental stage who are part of the association».
