Now that the European electoral process has closed, we can announce the results of these European elections in our town, where the Partido Popular obtained the highest number of votes at every polling station, with a total of 1,255 votes (354 more than in 2019), followed by the Partido Socialista with 831 votes (891 fewer than in 2019), VOX with 496 votes (21 more than in 2019), Se Acabó la Fiesta with 294 votes, Sumar with 137 votes and Podemos with 74 votes (334 fewer than in 2019).
As for local turnout, Manilva fell by 19.32 points, with 35.75% compared with 55.07% in 2019. These elections mobilised only 3,229 voters, with an abstention rate of 64.24%.
At national level, the PP won the European Parliament elections by two seats, in the same context of low voter turnout.
VOX and Se Acabó La Fiesta gain ground in Spain. Alvise Pérez’s group enters the European Parliament with three seats, the same as Sumar, which narrowly edges out Podemos. Catalan pro-independence parties collapse compared with 2019 and Ciudadanos disappears.
