The luxury property project in the Castillo's BIC area goes ahead

-

Seville-based developer Grupo ABU has announced an investment of 80 million euros in Manilva with the launch of ‘Vesta Mare’, a complex of 145 homes on the seafront, reaffirming its development rights in the face of reservations from residents and environmental groups over the protection of the area, as the site lies within the BIC (Bien de Interés Cultural, or Asset of Cultural Interest) of an archaeological site with special protection.

All signs suggest that development around the Castillo de la Duquesa is an unstoppable reality, and Grupo ABU has made its arrival in the town official. The company announced on Tuesday an investment of 80 million euros to build Vesta Mare, an exclusive residential complex that will occupy the last large plot of land available on the seafront next to the Castillo de la Duquesa monument.

Despite the public sensitivity aroused by building in this heritage site and the recent protests by residents and environmental groups, the developer is pressing ahead with the paperwork on the basis of established development rights. The project is presented as the firm’s «tenth development on the Costa del Sol» and its first in Manilva, a town the company identifies as the «next link» in luxury property after the saturation of Marbella and the consolidation of Estepona.

Sea views as the heart of the design

The residential complex will be built on a plot of 18,737 square metres (with 17,247 square metres of buildable area) and will consist of three buildings housing one- to four-bedroom homes. Aware of the privileged location, the developer has focused on visual integration with the coastline.

«The complex has been designed so that as many homes as possible have terraces and windows facing the beach. The layout of the buildings makes use of the space on the plot to offer this possibility to owners, who will be able to enjoy their daily lives on the spacious terraces», say sources from the Seville-based development group.

The project will include parking, a communal swimming pool, green areas and a large central square, aiming to attract both buyers of a primary residence and the second-home holiday market.

Manilva: the new target of the «Premium» market

The choice of this location is no coincidence. According to the company, Manilva has established itself as a strategic destination that combines the charm of a traditional coastal municipality, with areas such as San Luis de Sabinillas and Puerto de la Duquesa, with a residential offer that has yet to reach its peak.

This announcement by Grupo ABU in Manilva follows its recent entry into Málaga city with the ‘Las Esclavas’ residential development, confirming that the expansion of high-end property building continues to move towards the western end of the province, taking up the last free spaces on the coast, even those which, as in the case of the Castillo de la Duquesa, generate intense debate over the protection of heritage.
